Metal Pressings & Profiles – bespoke fabrication
Client: Hubbard’s Architectural Metalwork/Lindner
Date of completion: 2010
We were delighted to work on the Rathbone Market project, part of the Canning Town & Custom House regeneration programme to create a new commercial district, new housing and a refreshed High Street within the Thames Gateway. We developed and manufactured a bespoke balcony handrail that required around 1700 metres of bespoke fabrication work.
The design included an aluminium core with brushed stainless steel clad around it and a “swept” profile up to a 9 metre radius.
Stainless steel cladding to all lengths was secured with the use of a suitable adhesive after having achieved a snug slide-over fit between core and cladding. On completion of the adhesive curing process, applicable machining was then carried out in house to achieve required end conditions on the profiles.
Rathbone Market is an example of Stewart Fraser’s combination of consultative approach to projects and tooling capability.
