Pyrostyle Fire Doors & Screens
Project: KPMG HQ, Canary Wharf Contractor: ISG
Customer: Radii Partitioning Ltd Architect: Swanke Hayden Connell
Date of completion: 2013
Stewart Fraser’s innovative Pyrostyle Fire Doors & Screens have been incorporated into the new KPMG corporate HQ in Canary Wharf. Our product was approved by the architect to include a custom made door stile, which was a requirement of the design brief.
Other design challenges in the architect’s detailing included the stainless steel cover for the maglocks for access controls and stainless steel posts housing the proximity readers. A complete set of lift lobby double doors and screens was created and installed in our Ashford factory for inspection and approval before commencing full manufacture.
We were commissioned to manufacture and supply 49 double sets of Pyrostyle doors for the corridors and 31 double sets with side screens to protect the lift lobbies. Stewart Fraser was able to provide the Pyrostyle product to be installed by Radii, who had already been contracted for their high specification partitioning.
We provided a detailed method statement to include solutions for the frames and doors to be installed as late in the process as possible in order to minimise any risk of damage.
KPMG is another example of Stewart Fraser’s design expertise and flexible approach, which has resulted in a new strategic alliance with Radii.
